Twice club champion Tracy Elphick made a welcome return to action at the Grand Canal Canter event on Sunday 12 March. It was Tracy’s first race in four years after being plagued with injuries, since her last outing at the 2019 Looe 10 mile race.
But she showed still had a bit of the old dash, finishing the half marathon distance in 1:43:57, 13th overall and 5th lady. The event took lace at the Grand Western Canal, starting from Tiverton with half marathon, marathon and 50k options.
Tracy was joined in the half marathon by fellow Trotters Joanna Griffin and Teresa Holmes who finished in 2:24:12 (72nd) and 2:43:14 (96th) respectively. In the marathon, Roger Hayes flew the Trotters flag. The club chairman ticked off yet another finish in the classic distance, dipping under four hours with 3:58:01 for joint 5th place.
