A dozen Trotters showed plenty of spring in their step at the Easter Bunny 10k at Yeovil, with a trio claiming top three finishes in their age groups.
On a warm day in Somerset with only a moderate breeze, Ewan Walton led the charge, placing 23rd overall in a fine sub-40 finish of 38:39. It gave him the honour of third in the over 40 male class. Helen Anthony came home as the leading female in the over 35 class, placing 63rd overall in 42:38. There was also age group success for Keith Anderson who clocked 56:09, placing 164th overall and third in the male over 70 class.
There were further fine performances across the club. Ian Langler came home 36th in a solid 40:32. Duncan Knight continued his fine form in 66th with 42:47. Martin Randall logged 43:21 for 72nd, Bon Rymel was 81st in 44:38, Kim Knight was 121st in 51:04, Chris Andrews was 142nd in 53:30, Joanna Randall was 154th in 55:08. Joanna Griffin was 221st in 62:12 and Zilpah Walton was 274th in 74:58. There were 287 finishers overall.
The race was also the sixth in the club championship and several runners will be pleased with points banked over the Easter break.
