Suzie Mills , Sue Tremlett and Karen O'Brien travelled to Dorset to take part in White Star Running latest instalment. The Crafty Fox Half & Marathon races. Also, new for 2021, there was a 5.5 mile Crafty Fox Club race.
Each race ran through Dorset's best vineyard, Langham Estate, a 30 acre working farm. All three races took place in the hills and valleys in and around the area of Ansty, Bulbarrow and Melcombe Bingham.
The marathon route was changed from two loops to one, taking in the Wessex Ridgeway and Dorsetshire Gap, with spectacular views across the countryside. The terrain comprised of some very steep climbs, especially at Bulbarrow, and a couple of very sharp descents.
Sue Tremlett competing in her 29th Marathon, clocked an impressive time of 06:26:05 to finish 95th. Sue also finished 3rd in the FV 55-59 age category.
Karen O'Brien finished in 125th place in a time of 07:17:20. There were 138 finishers.
In the Half marathon. Suzie Mills ran strongly to complete the tough challenge in 03:20::02 to finish in 147th spot.
