Three Trotters travelled up the M5 on New Year's Eve to take part in the Glastonbury Tor Dash. As the name suggests, runners chart a path up and around the Tor. With 900ft of ascent over the course length of four miles it is a great way to end the racing year and herald the start of a new one.
This short, sharp multi-terrain race over tarmac, grass, tracks and paths is superbly organised by Rogue Runs with all 135 competitors given free hot drinks, cake and a medal for their efforts.
Jim Donovan led the trio home in a time of 39.22 and 49th overall. Mark Wotton was 91st in 47.48 and Emma Pearcy swept up in 49.36 and 102nd place.

This is my final mention of the new Torbay Velopark parkrun, but I think it warrants a piece this week.
On Saturday 31st December, it was the inaugural running of the long awaited new event. Superbly organised and on a potentially flat and fast course, a whopping 396 runners took part, which is brilliant for a first event.
Of course, a band of Trotters were there to help make the event a success and they included Tim Pratt, Graydon Widdicombe, Paul Sharples, David Taylor, Graeme Baker, Sally Ingledew and Sharon Bowman.
Here is a more comprehensive report, and details on how to register for parkrun are available here.
