Teignbridge Trotters again staged the Templer 10, on Sunday 6th November. Starting in the wonderful grounds around Stover School, this course is 90% off road and the runners have the pleasure of running around the picturesque Stover Country Park as well as the fields at Teigngrace.
The club came out to support the race with marshals, cake makers, time-keepers and many other roles supported by its members. As well as the main 10-mile race, the club also organised a 1-mile fun run for the under 14s, which was well attended with 76 competitors taking part.
Conditions were good for the runners, as although it was cool in the shade it was a sunny, autumn day.
Jim Cole from Tavistock AC won the race in a great time of 56:39, whilst Maddie Horton was first lady home in 1:04:06. Both of these competitors managed an age-graded percentage of over 78%, which is great running.
Several Trotters ran in the race, and their results are:
Jamie Barnett (4, 59:54), Kevin Woodard (13, 1:03:50), Sam Crowe (43, 1:12:20), Garrie Edwards (55, 1:14:37), Craig Churchill (63, 1:16:21), Travis Wood (76, 1:19:00), Eamon Crowe (156, 1:32:41), Lucy Evans (195, 1:39:49), Cath Pilton (201, 1:40:27), Steve Rawlinson (229, 1:47:47). There were 236 finishers and Jamie, Kevin, Sam and Garrie claimed the 3rd team prize at the race.
Graeme Baker took part in the Bideford 10-mile race on Sunday. This is a well-established race, which attracted 702 runners. Following up on his new Club Record last weekend, Graeme again ran very well in cold conditions. He managed to knock over 2 minutes off of his own V75 club record, finishing in 1:25:11 for 295th position.
