It was a very quiet weekend on the racing front for the royal blues. In fact most of the action took place across the channel. Life member, Dave Dunn, who now lives in France with his wife Brenda, took part in the la Course du Run, an 8K off road race starting and finishing in the coastal town of St Vaast la Hougue. The race required runners to not only traverse the beach three times, but also make the crossing to the Ile Tatihou. Fortunately it was low tide but the sea was still over Dave's knees on the way out. By the time he had made a circuit of the island the sea had receded further and the return crossing to the mainland was appreciably drier!
Dave finished 713th out of 1277 in 46:37

Peter Blakesley completed the Geo Sprint Tri on Sunday. He was third in his age group with a total time of 2 hours 6 minutes on what was a technical course.

Attentions now turn to the Totnes 10K, which takes place on Sunday 7th August. With well over 300 entrants already signed up, it looks like another bumper entry is on the cards. There is also a 1-mile fun run that takes place on the same day, starting at 10.25am. Both races will be taking entries on the day.
