Mark Wotton was the only Trotter who competed in the Burrator Horseshoe run on Saturday 18^th June.

Starting at 2:30pm, it’s a 7-mile race, which starts and finishes in the centre of Meavy Village.  It’s a scenic but challenging run taking in Burrator Reservoir, Sheep's Tor and Gutter Tor.  The course also goes through Ringmoor Down and through the Ford back into the village.  At around half way, there was bog to contend with which Mark can confirm is about chest height!

Mark finished in 66:07, and was 117^th out of 183 finishers.

(Yes, this is a little weird talking about myself in the third person, but here goes….).

Graydon Widdicome travelled to Milton Keynes to take part in Day 1 of the Enigma Shaken And Not Stirred marathon on Saturday 18^th June.  Many Trotters have used the Enigma events to ramp up their marathon totals, as Enigma put on several marathons a year, all taking place around the same Caldecotte lake.  For example, Sally “Marathon Queen” Ingledew has done over 1000 miles around that lake and there are also some people who have done over 100 Enigma marathons, again all around the lake!

The course is a lapped one meaning that for the marathon distance, runners have to go 7.5 times around.  Having never done a lapped course like this before, Graydon found that he quite enjoyed counting the laps down.

In good conditions, Graydon managed 4:01:03 and although a PB was a little disappointed with the time, but greatly enjoyed the event.  Graydon's position was 21st out of 51 finishers.
