Trotters have been out and about picking up a few personal bests and category places here and there.
Peter Blakesley, Donna Walker, Abi Blee, Gary Caunter, Mel Dunn and Glenn Jarvis all had great races over a variety of distances.
First up was the Age UK 10k in Exeter, a race known for being having good PB potential and a pretty nippy course, starting in the High Street before heading down to the canal and running along Riverside Valley Park.
Jamie Barnett led the contingent home in 40mins nine seconds and 36th overall. Mel Dunn was third senior female in 42.10 55th. Peter Blakesley continues to knock minutes off his times with 44.27 and first M55. Glenn Jarvis was third V70 in 1:02.06 516th and Donna Walker continues a great run with her first sub-50, posting 49.16 for 176th.
Royal Blues finishers were: Jamie Gill 41.07 43rd, Mark Hutchins 41.16 44th, Nigel Barnett 46.25 116th, Abi Blee 46.45 123rd, Derek Blackford 47.37 146th, Lisa Sandford 50.36 208th, Sharon Hutchins 55.45 356th.
*Further down the road 374 keen runners were attracted to the Tavy 13, a fairly lumpy and bumpy half marathon run that starts and finishes at Tavistock school and offers great views of the West Devon countryside. The first eight miles sorted the competitors out with a few undulations and the remaining five fulfilled a promise of some decent descents.
Hannah Walsh was first Trotter home in 1:44.08 and 97th place. Gary Caunter, who is making a welcome return to the racing circuit after battling injury for a long time, was next in 1:48.21 and 129th - his first race at that distance since 2011. Eleanor Taylor was 249th in 2:01.44. Katrina Zaple buddied up with second claim Trotter Sarah Ross and they crossed the line in 2:34.20 for 364th and 365th place respectively.
*Peter Middleton wore the club vest at the Reading half marathon and clocked 2:27, a real achievement after suffering from an Achilles injury.
