Cotswold Middle Distance Triathlon and Forest Flyer...

Six Trotters completed in the Cotswold Middle Distance Triathlon on Sunday 31st August.

The event took place at the Cotswolds Water Park in Ashton Keynes. Sharon Bowman competed as a Teignbridge Trotter whilst Mandy Wheeler, Russ Wheeler, Keith Anderson, Jennie Roberts, Helen Anthony all competed as Teignbridge Triers.  

The event comprises of a 1900 metre swim, 56 mile bike and half marathon. The competitors were in the water at 6.30am and the weather was chilly to start off with but the sun shone by the time the run started.

Results are:
Sharon Bowman (swim: 41:46, cycle: 2:54:56, run: 2:20:22, overall: 6:05:20).

Helen Anthony (swim: 37:45, cycle: 2:42:37, run: 1:33:58, overall: 4:57:18). Helen was second in her age category.

Jennie Roberts (swim: 47:57, cycle: 3:29:43, run: 2:20:02, overall: 6:58:12).

Keith Anderson (swim: 43:02, cycle: 3:15:56, run: 2:11:34, overall: 6:21:49). Keith was third in his age category.

Russ Wheeler (swim: 34:45, cycle: 2:29:40, run: 1:44:56, overall: 4:54:03).

Mandy Wheeler (swim: 34:55, cycle: 2:56:28, run: 1:43:51, overall: 5:21:25).

Gary Caunter unfortunately had to DNF due to a calf injury but managed 37:32 on the swim and 2:52:29 on the bike.

The Forest Flyer took place on Friday 29th August, which is ran around a hilly course in Haldon Forest.  This event was part of the Club Championship.

Eyvoll Aston and Helen Anthony claimed second and third ladies, with Helen saving herself a bit for the half-ironman event mentioned above.
