Trotters role of honour for 2013......................

ROLL OF HONOUR FOR TEIGNBRIDGE TROTTERS 2013

On Saturday 14th December the Annual Teignbridge Trotter Awards evening and presentation night took place at the Royal British Legion club in Kingsteignton.

The men’s Club Championship was won by Garry Smart(each trotter had to complete 12 races in 7 different sections-Half marathon,10km,short miscellaneous, long off road, long miscellaneous ,short off road and a mixed category) with a maximum of 600 points while the ladies Club championship was won by Jacki Woon for the 2nd year with 600 points.

Other trotters receiving engraved trophies for the championship were-

MENS - Daryl “Tarquin” Milford(2nd)593 points, Alan Boone(3rd)593,Wilf Taylor(4th)588,Ewan Walton(5th)575,John Tweedie (6th)563,Keith Anderson(7th)560,Graeme Baker (8th)559,Gary Watson(9th)554 and Mark Becker(10th)552 .Also finishing it were Gary Clark, Noel Fowler, Craig Churchill, Jimmy Donovan, Derek Blatchford, Guy Roberts and Stuart Moulson.

LADIES-Helen Anthony(2nd)597 points ,Eleanor Taylor(3rd)588,Sharon Bowman(4th)583,Sally Ingledew(5th)571,Ruth Johnson(6th)570,Sarah Schutte(7th)567,Tina Caunter(8th)565 and Tamsin Cook(9th )564. Also finishing it were Jo Billyard, Joanne Becker, Beverley Dennis and Catherine Barnes.

The fastest marathon went to Garry Smart (2.50.53) set in London while Dave Tomlin got the fastest 10km (34.13) at the first chance and half marathon (1.14.22) in Bideford.

The fastest marathon in the ladies went to Helen Anthony (3.21.36) also set in London and she also swept the board with the fastest half marathon (1.34.21) in Bideford and 10km (41.42) at the Dartmoor vale .

Most improved male was Keith Anderson and most improved female was Helen Anthony.
Most promising male newcomer was Tom Besford and female newcomer was Abi Blee.

The committee cup went to Daryl Milford while the John Scott trophy went to James Barnett and the  Ross cup (first tattooed trotter in the John Scott race) Nathan Elphick. Nigel and Jamie Barnett won the Dave Dunn Trophy for first co-habitating couple in the John Scott race.(father and son)
