After torrential rain and flooding over the past few days, Sunday 26th November started off dry and didn’t deter the Trotters competing in the tough “Bicton Blister” organised by the Exmouth Harriers.
Several detours were needed to reach the destination of Bicton College due to closed roads from the flooding that had occurred over night. The course is run from the College out onto Woodbury Common which throws a multitude of different terrains at the 397 competitors. There was plenty of thick energy sapping mud to contend with and water to run through.
This didn’t deter David Tomlin who once again had a very strong run on the trying course to bring the Trotters home in 5th place in a brilliant time of 1.06.58. Garry Smart back on the racing scene after a break raced into 12th place in a creditable time of 1.10.03 to pick up 2nd vet 45 .
Wavell Vigers was next Trotter in 1.14.56 and 27th. Geoff Davey was 34th in 1.17.07.
The other Trotters came in as follows – Ben Epps 105th 1.29.21, Filipe Da Silva 1.32.38 142nd, Mark Wotton 1.35.32 175th, Jim Donovan 1.36.11 177th, Neil Pallant 1.40.37 226th.
Jess Parkes brought the Trottettes home in 1.40.44 229th, Tamsin Cook 1.41.48 238th, Graeme Baker 1.42.11 243rd, Keith Anderson 1.47.30 278th, Lucy Payne 299th 1.49.31, Sharon Bowman 1.50.58 313th and Nicky Quant 2.03.15 and 372nd.
