On a chilly 1st December 196 runners took part in the Annual “Otterton Reindeer Run” which helps to raise funds for the village of Otterton where the race takes place. David (Tommo) Tomlin was in fine form and pushed the winner hard to gain 2nd place in a time of 39.45 on the new route this year due to flooding. Jimmy Donovan was next in 80th with 56.17 and Susie Ashleigh –Thomas was 176th in 1.18.07. Afterwards they all received a china mug with mulled wine to drink after their sterling efforts.
In Exeter, lone Trotter Matt Winter joined in with the Ironbridge Runner “Exeter Santa Run 5K”. This took 170 runners around the fast and flat course on Exeter Quay side. All competitors had to wear a Santa suit so a flurry of red and white was quite a sight. Matt did 28.16 and was 86th.
On Sunday the “Brooks Westward League Cross Country” took place on the fields next to Exeter Arena. El Taylor was the only lady Trotter and completed in 66th place in a time of 26.13. Alan Boone brought the men home in 72nd and 36.47, John Crocker was next in 111th and 41.52 and Graeme Baker was 123rd in 47.59.
