The Run Exe summer 5km series results......................

THE RUN EXE SUMMER 5KM SERIES

On a very warm and humid evening on Tuesday 2nd August the second race of “The run Exe Summer 5km Series” was held around the circuit at Exeter Canal at the Flower pot section. It is a 2 lap traffic free course and sponsored by Ironbridge Runner.

The course record got broken this month by Tom Merson of Bristol and West AC in a time of 14.57.A head wind down by the canal made the going a little tougher.5 trotters decided to give it a go with Tarquin, Gary, Ian and Fizz doing it again for the second month. Only Tarquin achieved a better time by 16 seconds. Fizz was 1 second slower, Ian was 9 seconds slower and Gary was 7 seconds slower! 110 runners completed the course which was 24 more than last month. The times are below –

Daryl “Tarquin”Milford 17.04 10th, Ian Langler 18.09 12th, Gary Clark 20.35 42nd, Craig Churchill 22.00 56th, Paul Banks 22.34 60th, Sharon “Fizz” Bowman 23.50 73rd (1st vet 45) Graeme Baker 24.03 74th (1st vet 70), Jessica Parkes 24.47 79th and Lucy Payne 27.06 90th (2nd vet 55)

The last race will be held on Tuesday 6th September at 7.30pm.
