Trotters challenged at Cornwood

It was a relatively quiet weekend for the Teignbridge Trotters; however eight club members turned out on Saturday evening for the Cornwood Challenge 10k near Ivybridge. This locally organised event has a real village flavour and is well supported throughout, this year attracting 198 runners. The circular multi terrain and well marshalled course includes some long drawn out inclines.

There was excitement at the finish line as Garry Smart and Daryl Milford fought for 8th overall position. Daryl triumphed by a split second, as they both crossed the line in a recorded time of 39:24. Honour was satisfied for Garry however when he ran off with the 2nd Veteran Male award.

John Tweedie was next to finish, 58th in a time of 48:09. He was followed by Nigel Penwarden (50:11), Graham Penn (52:14), Marsha Garrard (56:21), Eleanor Taylor (57:57) and Stella Imong (1:00:50).
