Sixteen Teignbridge Trotters braved the scorching conditions at the Plymouth Half Marathon on Sunday. The long running event starts and finishes on the Hoe and is always well supported throughout. The undulating route passes through the City centre, before heading out towards Saltram Park and Plympton, with a challenging climb from the Barbican at the end.
Chris Cleave was on fine form: 50th overall in a field of 3,889 finishers and 1st Trotter across the line, in a time of 1:25:17. Close behind in 65th place was 2nd Trotter, Garry Smart (1:26:15) and Peter Cleave, placed 98th in 1:28:47.
The remaining runners were: Ewan Walton (1:31:29), John Tweedie (1:33:04), Adrian Mawson (1:39:07), Mark Hamling (1:43:44), Gia D`Aprano, 1st lady home with a very respectable time of 1:47:27, Peter Blakesley (1:50:31), Milos Erben (1:54:34), Neil Turner (1:56:12), Graham Penn (1:56:21), Emma Sidebotham (1:58:45), Stephen Wallace (1:58:58), Nikki Kennard (1:59:40) and Steve Rawlinson (2:01:39).
