Six Teignbridge Trotters travelled to North Devon on Sunday (27/4), to tackle the Arlington Court Canter. This scenic 10K race winds its way through the Arlington Court National Trust estate. The undulating, off-road course saps your strength but compensation comes in the form of some excellent views.
Overcast skies and drizzle ensured that no one was in danger of over-heating. Garry Smart led the Royal Blues home in a time of 41.19, earning 21st place overall. John Caunter charged round in 48.36, Mark Wotton clocked 50.25 and Steve Rawlinson crossed the line in 54.44.
Stephen Wallace's 56.56, meanwhile, gave him a personal best performance. And Jimmy Donovan continued his welcome return to the racing scene by completing the course in 57.39.
Also on Sunday, John Johnson and Graham Penn journeyed to the Wye Valley to compete in the Offa's Orror, a 20K multi-terrain race that takes in the challenging climbs and exhilarating descents around Offa's Dyke.
Mild weather and a light shower made for pleasant running conditions. John finished in 83rd place with a time of 1.50.31. Graham was 162nd, completing the course in 2.05.05.
