Fifteen Teignbridge Trotters travelled to West Sussex on Sunday to take part in the Arundel Castle 10K. This multi-terrain gallop around the grounds of the famous castle had plenty of challenges of its own, including heavy rain, hills and mud. But the majority of the party introduced their own challenge to the event by running it on the morning after stag night celebrations for groom-to-be Stewart Dunn.
Dave Tomlin didn't allow the festivities to cramp his style. He clocked 36.33, finishing 3rd overall. Next Trotter home was Roger Hales, who finished in 42.39. Ian Langler was next, with 42.45. Stewart himself crossed the line in a creditable 45.12.
Also running were: Gary Caunter (43.03), Ewan Walton (43.37), Roger Hayes (46.52), Matthew Dunn (49.00), John Tweedie (49.03), Graham Penn (49.53), Dave Dunn (51.32), Gary Watson (52.05), Andrew Ludlam (53.01), Pete Aston (53.21) and Adrian Youngman (58.37).
On Friday August 22, 25 Trotters took to the woods around Haldon for the Forest Flyer 5. New member Andrew Penney flung down the gauntlet by charging round the course in 27.43, leading the Royal Blues home in 8th place overall. Chris Cleave (27.55) was the next Trotter to complete the course, followed by Roger Hales in 28.37. Teignbridge's first lady was Eyvoll Aston, in 31.27.
