Four Teignbridge Trotters travelled to the Honiton area on Sunday (February 24), to take on the Dalwood Three Hills Challenge. This mainly off-road 10-miler contains some pretty stiff climbs but the Royal Blues got stuck in. John Johnson (1.33.50) led them home, followed by Mark Wotton (1.42.54), Steve Rawlinson (1.46.16) and Stephen Wallace (1.53.15).
For John Johnson, his run at Dalwood wasn't the only challenge of the weekend. The previous day, he and Garry Smart turned out at the Endurancelife South Devon Coastal Half-Marathon. Garry, who has only recently joined the club, finished sixth overall, in 1.44.16. John posted a time of 2.05.08.
Further afield on Sunday, a score of Trotters tackled the Terminator, a tough 10-miler in Wiltshire. Official results weren't available as we went to press: a full report will be published next week.
On February 17, a trio of Trotters completed the Inca Trail, a seven-mile, multi-terrain run in the area around Ilchester in Dorset. Taking advantage of the sunny, crisp conditions, Marion Witham finished in 1.27.22, a time which earned her first place in the Female Over-55 category. Nigel Penwarden clocked 1.02.39 and Amanda Milverton crossed the line in 1.20.39.
