Once again there has been alot of recent royal blue activity, with Teignbridge Trotters competing in all parts of the region.
Personal Best times seemed to be the order of the day at the Cheddar Half Marathon. The pick of these being Matt Dunn who scythed a massive 30 minutes of his previous best time in 1.44.19. Brother Stewart was not to be outdone and took two minutes off his time with 1.34.09 and John Tweedie completed the trio in recording a 20 second pb of 1.31.32. Other Trotter times were Dave Tomlin 1.21.19, Ewan walton 1.27.20, Gary Watson 1.34.27, Mark Hamling 1.35.19, Dave Dunn 1.44.41 & Sharon Bowman 1.53.36
Once again, distance proved no barrier as the Trotters continued to globe trot around the world. this time at the Nice Marathon. The well organised event attracted some 10,000 runners on a scenic course with views of the snow covered Alps. First home was Roger Hayes 3.24.28, followed by Stef Ross 4.21.52 and Pauline Newsholme who in her 70th year completed her 70th marathon in her best time for five years of 5.53.24
Also taking on the gruesome 26.2 miles, but somewhat more locally in Cornwall was Paul Scholfield, completing the tough course in 4.45.18
Sunday saw the annual running of the Castle Drogo 10. Probably one of the most scenic local runs over a multi-terrain course with a couple of killer hills saw a host of Trotters turn out on a glorious morning for running. 27 Trotters competed, but at time of going to press category winners were unknown.
Equally as popular was the Tavy 7, the previous Sunday. The event over the moor with an uphill start, but a fast downhill finish produced some excellent times, the pick of these being Dave Tomlin 9th out of over 600 runners in 41.30
