Six Teignbridge Trotters travelled to north Devon on Sunday to take part in the Bideford 10K, an undulating mix of road and trail that traditionally generates quick times.
Despite very warm conditions, the band of Royal Blues stayed focused, exploiting the fast, flat second section along the picturesque Tarka Trail. Dave Tomlin led them home in 34.47, coming 9th out of 469 finishers.
Sue Brown was next, bagging a personal best (PB) with her time of 46.32. Sharon Bowman was also on fine form, clocking 47.47 for a useful sub-48 PB. Graham Penn wasn't far behind, posting an admirable 49.00. Michelle Willocks-Watts has been working hard in recent months to crack the elusive 50-minute barrier and her diligence was amply rewarded as she romped home with a 49.45 PB. She was backed-up by Eleanor Taylor, who crossed the line in a creditable 50.49.
