Race Report: Exeter Last Chance 10K
The Teignbridge Trotters marked the end of 2007 with a final event on Sunday (December 30) - the Last Chance 10K, in Exeter. The misty, still conditions were a welcome relief from previous years, when a stiff breeze often made the going tough in the latter stages of the race.
The Last Chance 10K is always a challenge for those runners who may have indulged in a little too much festive fare over the holiday period. Yuletide temptations obviously hadn't bothered Dave Tomlin too much. He led the Trotters home in a time of 35.38, securing 17th position overall. Next up was Mark Becker, in 41.39. Topping off an excellent season, Becky George was the first lady in royal blue to cross the finishing line, clocking 45.06.
Also burning off those mince pies were: John Johnson (46.46), Keith George (47.00), Graham Penn (47.14), Peter Vine (49.35), Stephen Wallace (49.42), Steve Rawlinson (50.49), Paul Scholfield (51.10), Graeme Baker (51.14), Jeanette Howard (51.22), Sharon Bowman (WRN/ Trotters, 51.43), Marsha Garrard (52.18), Glenn Jarvis (54.32), Jo Becker (55.59), Cindy Brookes (56.48), Susie Ashleigh-Thomas (56.48), Amanda Milverton (58.10), Bob Alford (59.04), Claire Rowe (1.00.02) and Marion Witham (1.01.27).
